Have you not visited this board after every loss or win??
If that were true they would all be dead by now because nobody loses more than they do... and they always feel like a universal injustice has been committed when they do lose, like the gods should be outraged by their losing (when in fact it usually seems the gods are conspiring against them).
Does any fan base in the country consider itself unjustifiably entitled to greatness like UVa fans do? They're not even academically the best school in the ACC for crying out loud, their so-called claim to fame. And when they do lose in sports, which is most of the time--and I really think this is unique to UVa fans---they ALWAYS try to find some kind of "moral victory" in defeat or rationalization... "so-and-so had a hobbled ankle", "they had been traveling all night before the Chaminade game", "we outscored them in the 2nd half", "Zeglinski isn't even a true point guard", etc. etc.
Yeah, in other words, they're losers.
Shall we post the mountaintop letter for old time's sake?

Wow, lotta hate over here for a team you don't care about.
My favorite UVa memory, hands down:
Maryland ends the game on a 13-2 run to win 91-87.
Oh I care, I hate UVa passionately. It's all in good fun though.
Enjoy, my friends, enjoy:
Awesome, that's the way it should be. For the record, winning at Comcast is probably gonna be a little too tall a task for UVA, but I'll hope for the best
As I already begrudgingly acknowledged, Bennett is certainly a bonafide very good (if not great, that remains to be seen) coach. UVa was simply not this well coached under Gillen (lol, good times) or Leitao. And we are too young and bipolar. I think we get swept by the yahoos this year.
And it was a cakewalk
too lazy to look it up, but someone please post the video of MD beating UVA and Gary Williams going nuts.
As a UVA fan, all I can say is that two decades of mediocrity following a decent run (2 FF's and 5 Elite Eights) will do that to a fanbase - make them incredibly desperate for success. It is what it is, and right now fans are understandably excited about what they see from Bennet - well-coached teams with good player development.
We're all pretty thrilled with beating Clemson by the biggest margin in an ACC (37 points) game since beating Duke 109-66 in 1983. Having won 5 of the last 6 conference games by an average of 18 points has been a fun ride, especially with such a young, injury-riddled team. No, after all the inexplicable losses to bad teams this season, we're definitely not great by any means, but there's also plenty to like. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year with only one senior (who's not a scoring threat), so it's pretty much all gravy right now.
Fire Mike "FCS is legit" London
I miss that team so much. Bro crush. :nohomo
If Tech showed us anything it showed us that going zone against us works especially when we have a serious size advantage....because of our poor PG play. I expect to see a really low scoring game where UVA has a total of 5 turn overs and we have about 20 because we can't seem to understand a zone. We need to work over screens and NEVER help in the post because there's no need. The only way UVA wins is if they control tempo, shoot the 3 very well and cause a lot of TO's. The sad thing is that isn't a tall order for them because they are well coached and that's pretty much our MO.
9/21/2010...RIP Old IMS.
Man, this is starting to feel like a UMD-NCSU thread... let the hate flow.
Random question, but is Comcast the second biggest arena in the ACC behind the Dean Dome? Been to Byrd a couple of times (upset of #8 BC in '07 was my last game there) but never seen Comcast; my college roommate (Terp fan) used to rave about it (although he'd never say it was better than Cole).
One of the greatest sports articles ever written.
My favorite Maryland memory is when the downtrodden Cavs took down the #8 Terps in Comcast in '03 (part of a season sweep).
My favorite memory from a game at Cole simply because it was a ridiculous ending (not UVA-related; link below):
As a Maryland fan, its necessary for posterity. Its painful, but needed.
No, PNC's bigger as well.
Bigger ain't better.
eamhokie94: Is your name Nazi in pig Latin?
Best Virginia memory hands down: Maryland goes to B1G while Virginia sinks with the titanic. Nothing is gonna top that.
I seriously doubt Virginia will be sinking with anybody. If it comes to that, I"m sure the BIG will take us if we act quickly enough
Turgeon: You all know what you have to do. Remember, no one, and I mean no one, comes into our house and pushes us around.
Rudy "The Movie" Notre Dame Locker Room Speech
That prove prophetically correct, Not.
yea, I'm sure he'll fold.
I'm sure that's your hope. It probably is correct, but guess what every middle of the pack ACC program is thinking?
There are only so many spots.
Classy, bro. Just like all of the fans today.
