Where's a good place for drinks and lunch before the game on Saturday? I'll be there with JDterps02. We're staying at the Glenn Hotel downtown.
NYCTerp is now OCTerp
Taco Mac or STATS
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
Varsity, but you'll be stuck in the Phillips Arena bathroom for most of the 2nd half.
I agree with STATS. It's a sports bar and grill just a couple blocks down Marietta St. from the Glenn Hotel, and right near Philips Arena.
Not that this is particularly important, but it is also the location where Brian Gregory conducts his Monday evening coach's radio show.
STATS sounds good. 1/2 price food day of game with a game ticket too.
Also could use some dinner recommendations. We're getting in late Friday so something casual near some good spots to go out would be great. Saturday could be more formal/higher end. Last time in ATL I went to South City Kitchen, which was great.
STATS offers tried-and-true American favorites that are sure bets to please every palate. One of our restaurant's signature features is that we are one of the only bars in the United States to feature a beer tap system allowing guests to pour their own beer with no server or bartender needed.
In addition to our beer tap tables, we have five bars and almost 16,000 square feet of restaurant and private event space - featuring 70 high definition TVs.
If you have a car and want to drive out of the downtown area I have some great Asian recommendations for you. Around Phillips Arena, I would probably go to STATS. Decent food and good prices on beers. Varsity I feel is overrated (other than the tradition), and the food is greasy beyond reason.
Yeah, screw The Varsity. Go to The Vortex instead if you want burgers. You won't regret it.
the varsity is delicious
and it's right next to the cheetah
Wow, StubHub tix dirt cheap for the game. Now to figure a cheap way down to Atlanta.
asian recommendations are certainly relevant to his interests
Don't waste money on StubHub ... there will be plenty of people selling tix for $5-$10 out in front of Philips Arena.
is that the best gentlemen's club in atlanta?
whats the place where patrick ewing and the knicks got in a little hot water?
The Gold Club ... R.I.P
what do you guys know about the Pink Pony?
It's awesome. Both are great, the Pony is a bit cheaper with drink prices and no cover during the day.
NYC - STATS is a good bet. I will probably pre game there, so email me at Wylie.firstname.lastname@example.org and join us if you like. There will be a group of about 30 in Club Section 101 at Philips. Stop by the Club Bar at half if you get the chance. And buy Club tickets if you have the choice, as that is the only area with alcohol sales.
