Thanks Terps coaches for getting two good FR QB's to compete. One is a PRO set (Rowe), one is basic athletic (Hills) approach. In case no one has seen FB from HS to pro's, injuries are a big part of the game, witness HOF Tom Brady going down in 1st game a few seasons ago. Worked out well for Cassel, made him a millionaire.
Please don't go backward swooning for Danny. He is starting for Wisc and we wish him the best. Let's support the guys on scholarships here, who are looking to make their own names/legacies.
Apples and oranges here, Summer. We are talking about two 18/19 year olds who have never seen a minute of NCAA Division I play. There is a profound difference between high school and collegiate play, not to mention professional play. These kids needed to redshirt and grow in a number of ways. Now, they fall into the the crucible of ACC play. Now, they can't do that. Couple their inexperience with our less than talented started O line, what will become of us when we play Florida State?
This is very depressing. I was around when we had an 0-9 season in '67. Do we break our loss record this year?

Bright side (if you wanna call it that), maybe this season gets Rangoon fired.
I doubt it. Recruiting is on a roll and this gives Rangoon an excuse for a poor record.
Going through another coaching change/staff change this early would be awful for the program.
Devin Burns is going to get some play at QB, according to Edsall.
And have who take over...Locksley? I love having him here as a recruiter and OC, but not as a head coach. He would be a disaster all over again.
Attitude Reflects Leadership
I was going to say this word for word.
..me too for '67, I saw that season. Didn't they go 0-10 next year or was it 1-9 (maybe beat UNC, but that was a long time ago).
Yeah, I know it is tough on FR, but at least we have someone who can compete. First time Boomer hit the field, I thought it was no wonder he wasn't a starter, but look what happened from that point on.
Let's appreciate the fact that these guys are competitive. Perry was an all-American wrestler. Caleb apparently was under the radar for the southern recruiters, so I think they will both compete.
Competing is not to be construed w/winning. Very few FR QB's do great. If they learn the offense and become leaders, then great for them and us.
I don't know but the current regime is looking down the barrel of 20 losses in two years. Anyone can do that. And Rangoon does deserve some of the blame since he drove off the only other viable QB on the team. Any potential replacement can hire locksley just like rangoon did. The year has to play itself out, obviously but rangoon is the epitome of replaceable talent.
This could only happen at the University of Maryland. Seriously.
Very true. I'd just be afraid of Locksley leaving if Edsall was fired, either for not being retained or looking to jump ship with a new staff.
Nope, 2-8. Beat UNC and fake USC. Our first double-digit loss season wasn't till 2009.
eamhokie94: Is your name Nazi in pig Latin?
Is Kenny Tate hurt?
absolutely...the only guy on the whole team we couldn't afford to lose - who I assume wasn't being exposed to any contact, etc - gets hurt during non-contact drills...
reminds me of Chris Kelly - but of course we had a guy named McBrien on the team...
...and, as mentioned Rangoon (& KA) have their ready-made excuse for the season...if we win 3 it will be a surprise to me
lol...you should actually have rangoon as the taboo idol on the string and us fans wearing him.
Best wishes to CJ on his recovery and speaking of knee injuries, anybody know how Andrew Gonella is doing? I know he had a pretty nasty injury last year.
