Thread was here announcing his decision to transfer. Thread then vanished. Story pulled?
Looks like its for real:
Wish him best of luck...
assuming Brown, Hills & Rowe all come back healthy (and with Cockerille coming in) I don't think it's that significant of a loss
Maybe not, but he certainly showed a lot of quicks and athleticism during his brief PT. Would have made an outstanding WR or Safety if not a Wildcat type QB. That's actually how I view CJ. Gives you another blocker on designed runs and can throw off the outside runs after the Corners are frozen. Hate to lose him.
Im sure he wants to play QB somewhere as opposed to battling for the 5th wideout spot here.

I was saying Boo urns
wish him luck. he was a stud during that nc state game. Another trait that edsall is awful. Burns ran the zone read like a champ in real game day situation, but I guess Edsall didn't see it in "PRACTICE"
Just goes to show how stupid you really are. Burns was forced to convert to WR for playing time because he was playing behind the "GREAT ONE" DOB the year before. He switched back to QB with no prior practice in the ZR just this year.
Come on out and get your whoopin!
Makes sense. Log jam at QB. CJ back and healthy, Perry and Rowe redshirt, Ricardo the back up with Cockerille 3rd string
I have no idea what Burns felt inside (obviously) but I felt he was a class act. Gave up being a QB to play WR, then back to QB ''for the good of the team,'' WIth no real likelihood that he'd have a real shot this fall.
this was my take as well. wish him luck, and congrats for escaping GSP.
I'd imagine Cockerille would redshirt and Rowe or Hills would be the third option or even the first back up to Brown.
just figured both were coming off season ending injuries and could use more time to rehab. Still to be decided, I'm sure, but a log jam none the less.
i dislike edsall as much as everyone else, but this has absolutely nothing to do with him. it's just getting irritating now. can we save it for the pisspoor clock management and in-game decisions now? he's got the guys he wants, the guys that didn't like him are gone. he really hasn't said anything profoundly stupid in a while (dumb luck perhaps), too.
for all we know Burns just wants a chance to play because he has no shot at a pro career. UMD is too crowded at his positions of strength. be happy for him to move on and happy for the terps having better options than him.

There is no place for your sensible logic on these boards
No. Article thread was moved to the Inside Scoop forum. Story (free) is still on the homepage.
Maryland quarterback Devin Burns intends to transfer from College Park and enroll at another institution, a team official confirmed to InsideMDSports.
