NEAL WHERE ARE YOU
Value City = NuBojangles
Why do we have a "new" basketball facility, yet when Turge arrived he said our facilities kinda sucked and had to renovate a big portion of it- offices, weight room, player lounges, meeting rooms etc. Shouldn't they have done a better job with these things initially? It sucks that a 10 year old facility needed such an overhaul.
Big corn always makes me think of this.
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
our videoboard is garbage
NYCTerp is now OCTerp
AND visiting teams also receive a free conference victory.
(insert 2012 Spartan Stadium joke here)

While the comcast center is nice-ish, if you look at the construction budget adjusted for inflation it comes in under a lot of the new arenas and you can tell what got cut out of the budget was a lot of the finishes that would have made it nicer.
Look at pictures of gary's office. It was OK, had a custom wood floor but it was still painted drywall with vinyl base and ACT ceiling. I work in architecture. Those finishes are garbage if you want to impress people. A lot of comcast got finished out in the cheapest materials in the industry. I can see why Turge wanted to upgrade things.
Maryland has average or below average architecture and master planning especially when it comes to athletic facilities. I can't see how a major uptick in funding will keep us from creating yet another garbage football addition. We are our own worst enemy.
This board has 100x more design sense than the design professionals UMD has hired for the past 30 years.
this needs to be the first thing we buy with the big10 money. it is beyond embarrassing to walk into a modern facility and see a 19" tube tv hanging from the ceiling.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
you should try out the comcast center.

Interacting with fans from agrarian societies is going to be an adjustment.
Congrats on coming up to speed with the rest of the Big Ten on their basketball facilities.

I am legitimately cracking up at the Big Ten farmer jokes. It's like us making jokes about Iowa and Nebraska, except compared to Maryland the whole Midwest might as well be Iowa.
The best facility is the Schott in Columbus, but the best environments are at MSU and Indiana. I take it you all get rowdy at UMCP.
Let me take this opportunity to say that I was very impressed with the Duke chants
Can we talk about Indiana for a second. I can only assume that the entire conference hammers them on a daily basis for having a fucking WALL in their arena. Embarrassing.
I love how Indiana and Illinois both have an Assembly Hall.
