Brad Stevens and Bill Self. Calipari is clearly the strongest coach if winning games is the only objective, but I dont want to get left high and dry like Memphis and UMass.

I'm honestly not sure I'd trade him for Stevens. I'd like to wait and see if maybe he just caught lightning in a bottle with that team. If he can do it with more than one group of guys, then yes.

I'll say it again. What Mark Few has done at Gonzaga is pretty incredible. I don't think there is a team from a major conference that wants to play them on a neutral site. NCAA record isn't that great. Imagine what kind of players he could attract if he were coaching in the ACC.

I hate Calipari with a passion, but he's oh so tempting. You will be competing for a championship EVERY year, even though he hasn't won one yet. The only reason I say no to him: He doesn't tend to stay long, and chances are you will end up vacating something after he leaves. K is too old and no to Roy b/c UNC can recruit itself. But ultimately I stand pat for now and say his his future success, or lack thereof, should become clearer during the 2013-2014 season.

Even if you take an old guy who's a great coach by the time he retires we'd be able to hire just about any coach we wanted. But I'd never want to give Turge to UNC or Duke.

I could very well end up wrong on this but something makes me think that if I'm alive in 20 years Brad Stevens will still be at Butler, steadily putting up 18-22 wins a year, sometimes winning a round or even two in the tournament but never more and even that only once in a while, and the big story in his life will be that twenty years ago he went to the finals twice in a row. He'll still be a deity at Butler, he'll be respected for never having left but he'll barely rate a sizzle on the national scene.

Hopefully that won't be the case with MT, but it's too early to tell. Don't think I'd make that trade.

True, let me change the hypothetical to a notch below Few. Maybe less dominant in conference or something. Maybe Larranaga-level but with the big story more distant in the past.
