ACC to member basketball teams: In 2014.....

  • ....if we schedule you play at Maryland, we think you suck!

After perusing the internet message board geniuses it seems they have come to the conclusion that our home conference schedule will include four games each against BC and VT.

In all seriousness, how will the other teams feel when they see themselves on our schedule and no Duke or UNC? Equal partners?

  • I keep hearing the "ACC wont give us any good home games next year" talk being taken as a foregone conclusion. I'm not so sure. Who is really being done a favor by sending Dook and UNC to Comcast? The networks.

Think about it- as crappy as we have been the past 3 seasons, all those games have been on CBS/mothership ESPN. And we all know how much influence TV has on the schedules.

Edit: I heard somewhere this years win over Dook had the 2nd highest rating ON ALL TELEVISION for the week. Methinks the network suits get us a home game or 2 vs some blue boys...

  • I mean, we're getting 9 home games. One is UVA, one is Pitt... (I think?)

So that leaves 7 games and 11 teams to pick from. You are assuming that its not UNC or Duke. So 7 out of 9...If ACC also keeps NC State and Syracuse away...then you're left with:

BC, Clemson, FSU, GT, Miami, VT, and Wake to go with Pitt and UVA...

Pretty bad home ACC schedule there...

Are the ratings for Maryland @ Duke/UNC that much different than Duke/UNC @ Maryland?

  • if the ACC wants to give us a weak ass home schedule that's fine. I have no problem going 9-0 next year at home and romping away with the regular season title

Really good question, and I have no idea- but I would think since we typically are competitive and/or win at home, vs getting crushed away, yes.

I have a feeling we get Cuse at home next year and then 7 of those from below, with Pitt. Whatever. I'm perfectly fine with winning every home game.

That's what I keep thinking. It's not like they can tell us have to play at Duke or UNC twice.

Guessing we get NC State but not Cuse.

  • Yeah, its going to be tough not getting those home games when were winning the conference thanks to the easiest schedule ever.

This is exactly something the dipshits in Greensboro would do and have it backfire on them.

  • I don't think it'll be a complete screwjob but I think they'll probably keep Duke off because they know that's a big deal. Unless Krzyzewski decides he's unhappy with his last memory of Comcast being a court rush and Quinn Cook kicking the tunnel wall and tells them to schedule Duke here.
