Andrew Harrison Junior Season Highlights -...

Andrew Harrison is the #1 player in the country according to Rivals.com, the 6'5 guard combines speed and power with his advanced skill set. Harrison elevates his level of play against the best competition (in this video Adidas Nations and John Lucas Camp).

This is what I've seen in the 3 or 4 games I've seen. That said, Andrew is the more important player.

  • Jeez, Rysheed's pretty high on that list too. Didn't realize he had that sort of stature (at least by some reckonings, apparently).

Wow, Rysheed now higher than Britt. There's no doubt I'd love to have Rysheed, and hopefully if we miss out on the Harrisons (better sooner than later) we'll still have a shot at him. But at least until November, I'm not taking anyone who may force away the Harrisons. But if the twins want to drag it out til the spring, then I'm taking Rysheed (if we can) and telling the twins that they'll have to learn to play with other good guards. I mean, I can't imagine that Kentucky won't be getting another good guard or two, so it may not be the end.

But hopefully the Harrisons make up their mind somewhere in the August-November range so it isn't too much of a problem.

I was surprised to see Beejay so high. I doubt he'll come here because we're loaded at the 4 & 5 (Cleare, Mitchell, Len, Smotrycz, Pankey, Dodd). But it would be a pleasant surprise if he does.

Beejay's wingspan is crazy. He plays so much bigger than he is. I wish Turge and Co. had made him more of a priority. I do however like our recruits.

  • Under Armour is the best recruiting tool MD could have. If they are smart, they will use that at any expense they can. There is no way they don't get at least one of them if they utilize it the way they can.

    If MD doesn't

It will only be another time in the state of Maryland's history where they don't use the resources around them given to them.

  • I don't know much about these guys but based on some of this video.....DO WANT Kris Jenkins. Looks like a phenomenal athlete, even if he is heavy and a tweener. He's quick and it looks like he has GREAT instincts and a pure stroke. If he drops a few pounds, he might be a better shooting Keith Booth. And I'm guessing he would be a 4-year player.

And Anya looks intriguing because those arms are ridiculous, but overall he looks kind of limited as an athlete. Again, I haven't seen much of these guys though.

I didn't think Anya had any interest iin MD anymore.

Isn't he a heavy Syracuse lean?

Edit: This was recorded in February, so things may have changed. I'm sure there will be some more attrition next year.

Beat me too it. I added that note while you were posting. It's the latest I can find on him. He does say that Turgeon was still on him. Turgeon has shown that he will "make room" if needed.

  • Some guy at my gym told me he's a Carolina lock. No idea who the guy is. If Joe Black is in his mid-50s, with a bit of a gut, then maybe it's him. (FWIW, the guy also told me the same thing about Britt before he announced. Whatever.)

  • The main proirities is to sign the Harrison twins and to keep Len and Faust for their junior season. That would be 4/5 of the starting lineup.

While it would be nice to keep those guys around (and I think by all means Faust will alomst definitely still be around), it's always good to send guys to the NBA. Faust exploding next season would also be huge for recruiting. Not to mention, that if both Len and Faust are good enough to go pro after next season, then we probably would have just had a very good year.

So to me, there's really only one priority. HARRISONS.

  • there IS only 1 priority. Sign the Harrisons. I dont see anyway interest in MD doesnt sky rocket with the nations top PG coming in. We would be able to essentially replace Nick and or Len with somebody good. IF we got the Harrisons.

There's never a downside to having players good enough to be high NBA picks.

The only problem is players who go out of hallucinatory high expectations, bad academics or general program-harming disgruntlement.

  • I can't believe how many people would really pass on a 5star pg, (from Philly) who has a legit shot at being at a McD AA because they like our chances to out recruit Cal for the twins. Mind blowing. I'm sure there is a good reason why Sheed has been told by the staff that he is the number #1 recruit.

So you take a "legit shot at being a McD AA" if it kills your chance with TWO top-5 guys who have essentially listed you as one of their two finalists? I don't.

And let's not pretend we have no chance to win the battle against Kentucky. You can recruit all you want, but it's ultimately the kid's (or in this case kids') decision. Not to mention, the Harrisons have ties to this area, a close relationship with our assistant coach that predates their recruitment, and maybe the biggest thing of all - our affiliation with Under Armor. People need to start realizing we have a VERY good shot at getting these kids.
