Racist!
Anybody else hoping this kid Damonte Dodd grows to 7'0+? It would be awesome if he grew a bit put on an additional 15 to 20lbs.
Him and Len together would give us a tremendously large frontcourt. Whens the last time we had 2 7footers?

The Baltimore Sun
11:46 a.m. EST, March 2, 2012 Another senior guard has popped up on the Maryland men's basketball program's radar.
According to Rivals.com's Jerry Meyer, Downer's Grove (Ill.) South shooting guard Jerron Wilbut picked up a Memphis offer, while Maryland, Dayton, Nebraska, Oregon and Virginia Tech are "all in too."
Wilbut is a three-star prospect and the No. 147 prospect nationally, according to Rivals.com. Scout.com's John Martin reported that Wilbut was thought to be "headed for JUCO" going into his senior season, but major strides academically have made DI college basketball a better bet for the 6-foot-3 prospect.
ESPN.com rates Wilbut a three-star player and the No. 27 shooting guard in the 2012 class.
At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, he is an excellent finisher on the break over, around or through contact. In the half-court, he sets up his rhythm jumper with his quick first-step slashes, especially along the baseline, where he is very effective scoring on both sides of the rim, thanks to his quickness and body control.
* InsideMDSports reported Thursday that Wheeler (Ga.) four-star power forward Charles Mitchell will make official visits to Florida State and Maryland over the next several days.
* Maryland power forward commitment Damonte Dodd had a monster game in Queen Anne's County's 78-73 loss to Wicomico.
Queen Anne's County High senior center Damonte Dodd scored 31 points and hauled in a career-high 30 rebounds, surpassing the 1,000-point mark with 5 minutes, 25 seconds left in Tuesday night's Class 2A District VIII boys' basketball semifinal.
* Terps small forward signee Jake Layman's King Philip squad was stunned by Hopkinton, 70-64, in a Massachusetts Division 2 South quarterfinal.
University of Maryland-bound standout Jake Layman led King Philip with 30 points.
* UM center recruit Shaquille Cleare has reportedly been selected to play in the All-American Championship showcase event during Final Four weekend in New Orleans.
The [ACC-bound] players are point guard Nate Britt and center Joel James (North Carolina), guard Matt Jones (Duke), center Shaquille Cleare (Maryland), forward Robert Carter (Georgia Tech) and forward Evan Nolte (Virginia).
* Suitland junior point guard Roddy Peters, who has drawn serious Terps interest, has been unstoppable so far in the Rams' playoff run.
But then Suitland’s Roddy Peters took control. The junior guard scorched Wise for 35 points — 15 of which came in the third quarter — as the Rams beat the Pumas 67-52. Suitland advances to the 4A South Region final, where it will visit second-seeded Eleanor Roosevelt on Saturday in Greenbelt.
* The Gazette wrote a story this week about the weight loss of Terps target and DeMatha junior center BeeJay Anya.
Suddenly, without his conditioning holding him back, Anya's game reached a new level. With a 7-foot-9 wingspan — longer than any player in DraftExpress' database — Anya has controlled the paint on both ends of the court for DeMatha and is leading the team with 12.5 points per game. He also is recognized as one of the top recruits in his class and has drawn scholarship offers from across the country.
* Maryland-bound center Malina Howard's Twinsburg (Ohio) squad is moving on to Saturday's district final against Warren Howland.
Howard simply took over Thursday’s Akron District semifinal game as the Lady Tigers beat Walsh Jesuit 57-37. Howard, a University of Maryland recruit, scored 26 points.
* UM women's forward signee Tierney Pfirman's South Williamsport (Pa.) team suffered a 70-64 loss to Mount Carmel in a Pennsylvania District 4 Class AA semifinal.
Pfirman finished with 25 points, 19 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Football recruiting
* Terps tight end pledge P.J. Gallo was picked to play in Pennsylvania's top postseason all-star game.
According to John Pizzigoni of the Council Rock South Football Boosters, tight end P.J. Gallo has been selected as a replacement for the Big-33 game, played June 16 at Hersheypark Stadium.

I liked the video too, but I read in an article somewhere -- can't find it now -- that he didn't start for his team in the state tournament. Since he played in the game I'm assuming it's some sort of disciplinary thing. (Yes, this is a guess, I don't know). If true, not a great sign.
Layman ... Jake Layman!

Around this time every year we start to hear about which recruits are going to be playing in which all star games. I have practically heard nothing this year, outside of Shaq playing in one game. Anybody know of anything else. I miss the charm city challenge.
edited to express how much I love those games. Its the last time these kids suit up in a HS uniform, and in previous years weve had the opportunity to see our guys play together for the first time. I would love to see that happen this year. And alot of these games get televised as well, so if anybody can find out, please do.
