Tate Reflects on Up-and-Down Career

Kenny Tate

Kenneth -- the linebacker formerly known as Kenny -- Tate has put up solid numbers this season while playing at less than 100 percent.

After spurning the NFL Draft two years ago, LB Kenneth Tate has gone through a rough two seasons. On the eve of his Senior Day, he expressed no regrets regarding the decision.

    • Kenny Tate is one class act.

    • This guy is a man among men. I wish him every success in the future, and I believe he is the type of person who will do well in whatever he ultimately chooses. I'm very thankful that he chose to be a Terp.

I'll still never forget that goal line play against Navy, where he leaped over the line and stripped the ball on the 1. Completely won that game, but there are many great plays and he's obviously more than just a football player, which is the trait that endears him to Maryland fans. When I stand in Byrd on Saturday to honor the seniors, I will be thinking those thoughts.

You are thinking of Adrian Moten who leaped over the line and caused the fumble. However, it was Kenny who closed up the hole and made the big goal line stuff the final play that helped secure the win.

Kenny Tate is a great Terp and wish him all the best once his career finally comes to an end.
