After C.J. Brown, Perry Hills, Devin Burns and Caleb Rowe went down to season-ending injuries, the Terps turned to converted linebacker Shawn Petty at quarterback for the final four games of 2012.

Shawn Petty has returned to LB this spring after taking over as Maryland’s starting QB for the final four games of 2012. He’s looking forward to hitting, instead of being hit.

I'm really rooting for Petty, what he did was pretty exceptional last year. Ideally, he will have the chance to redshirt

I think Petty will be a fan favorite. To come in and actually lead the team to a few scoring drives given that he had one week's notice is remarkable. I hope he gets a good amount of play this year and beyond.
