As somebody who died from a clot (and was revived), I can tell you this is serious ish. Glad they caught it before he coded.

As a hematologist, I can tell you he is going to need close supervision for a few months with routine blood tests weekly and then will hopefully be ok after 6 months or so.. All depends on his workup..I wish him well and hope he stays safe.

Why does someone get blood clots and how does one know when they have a clot? I thought they typically happened in the elderly and after surgeries. What would make this happen?
I hope Dalonte is okay.

I got a blood clot in my calf after knee surgery 3 yrs ago, and the doc siad it was minor cause it was so low in the calf. Did the bi-weekly blood testing and my wife had to inject me twice a day.
4 months later I'm flying out to cali and all of a sudden get a huge leg cramp in that calf. It's so bad that I black out. I've gotten severe leg cramps all my life and have fainted from them on several occasions. We'll this one was the frggn worst I ever went thru, not the cramp but the blackout...I honestly felt I was dying, it was the strangest feeling as I was blacking out and when I woke up, just felt sick and wierd, mainly cause I had heard about the risk of flying with blood clots.

Well, the greatest danger to you (and Hill) is that if one of those suckers break off and head straight to your lungs. Dead within minutes.

Stasis, injury to vessel wall, and hypercoagulability. Can't sit still on a plane or car for too long.
PE only gonna kill you instantly if it's massive.

Yes, having seven blood clots sounds like some sort of hypercoagulability issue.

Anyone can get blood clots, it's not just for the elderly. Women are at risk just for taking a birth control pill or being pregnant, for instance. My wife was on the pill and we didn't know she had an ASD (basically a hole in a chamber of her heart), so she had a clot cross the chambers of her heart and shoot up to her brain. She had a stroke and she was 26 at the time. Fortunately it was small enough that it resolved (and also she's a doctor and was post-call at the hospital at the time so got amazing treatment within seconds) ... but clots can happen for a hundred different reasons and can mean any of a hundred different things. Hopefully what Delonte's dealing with is manageable and he'll be fine. My thoughts and prayers for his safe-keeping ...
