It’s a big weekend for local hoops fans and Maryland recruiting junkies.

The Virginia Hoopsfest tips off Saturday at Potomac High in Dumfries, Va. Top Terps 2014 prospect Romelo Trimble and Bishop O’Connell face host Potomac at 8 p.m. in the nightcap, preceded by Genesis Academy (Lynchburg, Va.) and Middleburg Academy (Va.) at 5 p.m. and T.C. Williams (Alexandria, Va.) against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) at 6:30.
Tickets for the Virginia Hoopsfest will be available at the door the day of the games. Admission is $10, with children younger than seven admitted free of charge.
At DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, the National High School Hoops Festival will be home to a loaded field, including Terps prospects Dion Wiley (Potomac) and Marcus Derrickson (Paul VI), along with the No. 1 player in the nation, Andrew Wiggins (Huntington Prep), local star Aquille Carr and numerous other top-100 players.

The Gonzaga Basketball Classic at Gonzaga High School also features a strong field, highlighted by host Gonzaga, which features senior Villanova commitment Kris Jenkins, 6-7 junior Jordan Abdur-Ra’oof and touted sophomore point guard Bryant Crawford.
Also on display with be Maryland target Phil Booth (Mt. St. Joe’s) and senior backcourt mate Kam Williams (Ohio State) , Villanova commit Josh Hart (Sidwell Friends) and highly recruited 6-11 junior Andrew Walker. For more information, click HERE.
